About
Sandwoman Tel Aviv is a collection of short stories I wrote, alongside portraits I sculpted in the sand, together in one book.
Who am I?
My name is Maya and I'm an artist and tour guide. I studied for 4 years at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design and graduated with a B.Des. in Visual Communication. After I graduated, I decided to continue studying history and studied for 2 more years to become a qualified tour guide. I also graduated with a MA in Jewish Peoplehood Studies at the University of Haifa.
What is the story of the book?
I spend most of my time on the road guiding groups. Whenever I'm home in Tel Aviv, I go to the beach to see the beautiful sunsets.This is how it all began, creating the portraits in the sand, in the sunsets, and then the stories came to me :) through my imagination, from my heart, and sometimes from conversations I hear on the streets of Tel Aviv :)
For five years I have been writing, creating, and sharing with friends, sharing with family. In 2021 I decided to fulfill a dream, and published My Heart in the shape of a book :)
